EuroGOOS is an international non-profit association under the Belgian law with registered office at 29 Rue Vautier, 1000 Brussels, with the Register of Legal Entities in Brussels under the number 0521.723.012 (“EuroGOOS”). EuroGOOS attaches great importance to protecting personal data and maintaining privacy. This Privacy Statement (“Statement”) describes the personal information we may collect from visitors of the EuroGOOS website and subscribers to the EuroGOOS activities and newsletter.

EuroGOOS will only collect and process your personal data to be able to contact you in the framework of EuroGOOS activities, circulate its newsletters, and monitor the performance of its website. EuroGOOS will only use your data for the purpose indicated when you submit your data, or as detailed within this Statement. We use your data, for which you give consent, for the following purposes:
- EuroGOOS membership: EuroGOOS members are represented by member organization delegates who are asked to provide their name, business address and email, and phone number. EuroGOOS uses this information to communicate with the members. These details are stored on the EuroGOOS corporate Dropbox for business account. You can find the Dropbox data privacy policy here.
- Registration to events: By submitting the online registration form, you consent to the processing of the following data by EuroGOOS: first name, last name, affiliation, department, country, profession/position, and business email address. EuroGOOS will use the personal data to process your registration, communicate with you, and collect feedback. These details are stored on the EuroGOOS corporate Dropbox for business account. - Subscribing to newsletter: we will collect your fist name, last name, and email to be able to send you our newsletters from which you can unsubscribe at any time through the link provided in the newsletter. The newsletters prepared via Mailchimp. You can find the Mailchimp privacy policy here.
- Technical data: EuroGOOS may use data to measure and compile statistics on the performance of the EuroGOOS website. We only collect and use our website visitors’ data as it is necessary to provide a functional website. The website uses cookies, which store IP addresses. Every time you visit our website, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the calling computer. We collect the following data in our log files for technical processes to be able to deliver our website to you and to ensure adequate access stability and security (the legal basis is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Section (1) Letter (f) of the GDPR): IP address; Enquiry date and time; Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT); Enquiry content (the exact web page accessed); Access status/HTTP status code; Data volume transmitted in each case; Information of the Website generating the enquiry; Browser information; OS and its interface; Browser language and version. We may use Google analytics to analyse the traffic on our website, for which the aforementioned data are required. We do not collect your data for any other needs.
EuroGOOS may also use your personal data whenever necessary or appropriate under applicable law to: (i) respond to requests from public or government authorities; (ii) comply with legal processes; (iii) protect our privacy, rights, safety, and property; (iv) enable us to pursue any legal remedies available, or to limit damages and liability against EuroGOOS. For the abovementioned purposes, the processing is based on the consent of the participant [article 6.1 a) of GDPR].
Sharing personal data with third parties
EuroGOOS may communicate your personal information to external contractors/service providers (e.g. IT service providers who help manage events or website developers) which are the processors. EuroGOOS only uses processors providing sufficient guarantees to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in such a manner that processing will meet the requirements of the GDPR.
In the case images and recordings are published on social media accounts, third party may process the personal data for their own purposes. In this regard, please read their privacy notice. EuroGOOS will neither share nor disclose your personal data without your consent, other than for the purposes outlined in this Statement or where legally required to do so.
Protecting and safeguarding your data
All personal data collected will be internally processed by EuroGOOS staff members and stored on servers which abide by the EuroGOOS security rules and standards.
Verifying, modifying, or deleting your personal data
You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data as well as to restrict or object the processing of your personal data. You have the right to data portability. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any moment. The withdrawal of you consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before its withdrawal.
